Q&A

If I sign up how many classes can I attend at the centre?

When you sign up you have access to unlimited meditation time at our centre during our hours of operation. We are open from Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am – 11:00 pm and on Sunday from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Hence this also means it is fine to just drop in for the quick meditation in the middle of the day when you feel it’s needed.

Is prior experience with meditation required?

No. The method is designed to be accessible to all people, regardless of education, age, experience with meditation etc. Children as young as six years old have been known to meditate and they tend to grasp the concepts right away and love it.

How often should I attend classes?

As much or as little as you wish. We encourage students to attend as much as possible to see results and reach completion. The program can be completed in as little as 6 months if done intensively. But our main goal is for you to be happy and this means you must choose the speed that brings balance and joy to your life.

How does a meditation session work?

The meditation method is guided and very simple. You sit comfortably on a cushion or in a chair and follow the meditation method with your mind as it is guided. In the beginning, the meditation is guided individually, but as soon as you feel comfortable with the method you can meditate together with others in our big room. The meditation is neither physically challenging nor focused on any breathing techniques or mantras. The guides at the centre will follow you through your meditation journey and will do their best to make sure that you get a positive meditation experience.

What are the roots (or lineage) of this meditation?

Unlike other meditative practices, that come from specific spiritual traditions, this meditation is somewhat new. This project started in 1996 after an ordinary man reached full enlightenment. What first started as one meditation class consisting of ten students in Mungyeong, Korea in November of 1996, later developed into a complete program. Since that time teacher Woo has worked for the past two decades developing different techniques (later established into the 7 levels) trying to do a perfect method so others could reach a state of completion. Throughout the years as the different techniques were developed, students could reach various enlightenments but were unable to reach completion themselves until 2012.

While the founder provides a standard guide (i.e. manuals etc.) and guidance to the meditation centres when needed, the centres around the world run independently from him. Instead, this is emerging by hardworking people from all over the globe trying their best to share this message of hope with others as a result of their own positive and transformational experiences.

Is this meditation a religion?

No. This meditation transcends religion; those who engage in this study find within themselves that all religions are one. This meditation is not about believing in “Truth,” any doctrine or dogma. It is about, from within yourself, finding and becoming Truth itself.

What are the various payment options? Why do you offer a long term agreement?

We have different payment options. We provide the option to pay for unlimited classes month by month or the option of a one or two-year agreement (at a discounted monthly rate).

We have a long-term agreement simply to encourage our students to commit to completing all levels, which at a minimum takes six months, but on average people finish in 2-3 years.

If you sign up for the agreement, you are absolutely free to cancel it at any time, however just like when cancelling a gym membership we charge a small cancellation fee.

What are the forms of payment?

Cash, credit or check. We are a 501(C) not-for-profit charitable organization.

How many centres are available worldwide?

As of 2019, there are currently around 345 centres in 41 countries around the world.
